Playadito Becomes Most Popular Argentine Yerba Mate in 2025

New yerba mate industry data analysis reveals top 20 most popular brands of yerba mate in Argentina. And it seems there’s a new leader in 2025 — Playadito. Corrientes yerba mate producer lead the year with total sales of 56.7 million kilos.

Argentine media outlet, Plan B, published their exclusive analysis of yerba mate market in Argentina. Based on initial report provided by Instituto Nacional de Yerba Mate (INYM), Plan B assessed the domestic Argentine market, and broke it down by producers to compile a new leaderboard of most popular yerba mate brands, according to how many millions of kilos of yerba mate they sold in 2025 in Argentina.

Overall, Argentine yerba mate industry has seen some growth in 2025, with total of 324,769,423 kilos shipped, which is 7.3% higher than in 2024. Most of the growth came from increased exports of Argentine yerba mate, with historical record of 57,980,911 kilos, which is 32.2% higher than in 2024. Domestic market also shown 3.1% growth compared to 2024, with 266,788,512 kilos of yerba mate sold in Argentina in 2025.


According to private industry figures analyzed by Plan B, Cooperativa Liebig, which produces Playadito and Liebig yerba mates, finished 2025 as leader, with remarkable growth of 20% compared to 2024. Last year’s leader, Las Marías, who are known for Taragüi, La Merced, Unión and Mañanita brands, maintained almost the same sales as in 2024, which landed them on second place in 2025. Final spot on the podium went to CBSé, which displaced La Cachuera, producers of Amanda yerba mate, from the third place.

The rest of the list includes other notable Argentine yerba mate brands, such as Rosamonte at № 5, Yerbatera Misiones S.R.L. (Cruz de Malta and Nobleza Gaucha) at № 7, Cooperativa Montecarlo (Aguantadora, Sinceridad and Pampa) at № 8, Llorente y Cia, producers of La Tranquera, at № 9, Piporé at № 10, Romance at № 13, SANESA, producers of Natura yerba mate, sitting at № 19, and Mate Rojo at № 20.
